Prairie Central concluded the regular season with a varsity football win over St. Thomas More Friday night 52-20.
Connor Casner put the Hawks up in the first quarter and added a 17-yard run in the second. Kaden King also had a four-yard run in the second followed by a blocked punt return from Jacob Niffen.
In the second half, King had a 15-yard pass to Dailen Loveless while Loveless had a 14-yard run. Clare Strong had a five-yard run in the fourth. King led P.C. in passing while Jason Brown led STM. Rushing leaders were Casner, King, Loveless, Corbin Moser, Niffen, Caeden Young, Strong, Kenny Zimmerman and Logan Steidinger.
Strong had nine kickoffs with 319 yards for an average of 35.4. Nick Fever, Will Tatro and Austin Swiech all had kickoff returns while Swiech also had a punt return. Niffen, Loveless and Moser all had interceptions. Casner, Loveless, Young, Steidinger and King had fumbles.
PC had a time of possession at 24:38 compared to STM’s 23:22. PC led the rushing and total yards. For passing, STM had 88 versus PC’s 15.
