PC loses to IVC


IVC defeated Prairie Central in high school football action in Fairbury Friday night by a score of 27-7.


The game was moved up an hour due to the possibility of storms Friday evening. Several schools around Central Illinois either moved up game times or postponed contests until Saturday.


Corbin Moser had a one-yard run in the first from a Clare Strong kick to put the Hawks up 7-0. IVC then tied the game in the second and pulled away for a score of 14-7 at the end of the third. IVC’s Alex Merlo then had an eight yard pass to Alex Fulton in the fourth followed by a 15 yard run by Fulton from a Micah Schultz kick.


Kaden King led the Hawks in passing and rushing leaders were Conner Casner, Corbin Moser, Dailen Loveless, King and Jacob Niffen. For receiving, Cooper Palmore had one reception for 27 yards. Clare Strong had two kickoffs for 91 yards with an average of 45.5. Niffen, Tyler Trachsel and Nick Fever had kickoff returns for the Hawks while Ashtin Elder had two punts for 64 yards and an average of 32.


Austin Swiech had two punt returns for PC while King had two fumbles and Logan Steidinger had a fumble recovery.


PC had a time of possession of 25:27 with IVC at 22:33. Rushing was led by IVC 154-146 and IVC led the passing 135-27. IVC had 289 total yards to PC’s 173.
