PC gets past Olney


Prairie Central defeated Olney in the first round of the IHSA football playoffs Friday night by a score of 35-14.


The game was tied in the first when Olney’s Austin Nuttall had a 23-yard pass to Braedon Burgener and PC’s Connor Casner had a two-yard run. The Hawks were ahead by the second quarter as Kaden King had an eight-yard run.


King also had two big runs in the third and one in the fourth. King led the passing for PC and rushing leaders were King, Casner, Dailen Loveless, Corbin Moser and Jacob Niffen. Cooper Palmore led the receiving. Clare Strong had six kickoffs for 201 yards at an average of 33.5. Loveless and Owen Rafferty each had kickoff returns.


Loveless, Austin Swiech, Palmore and Moser all had interceptions. PC’s time of possession was 30:50 compared to Olney’s 17:10. PC led the rushing 441-42. PC had total yards of 472 compared to Olney’s 245.
