PC falls in Peotone sectional

The Prairie Central Lady Hawks basketball team fell to a strong opponent Tuesday evening in the Class 2A Sectional at Peotone.

Illini Prairie Conference foe St. Joe-Ogden defeated PC 58-48, despite a big Hawk comeback late in the game. The Hawks end the season at 24-9 in Gabby Weber’s first year as head coach of the program which celebrated a Regional championship last week at Braidwood.

Chloe Sisco had 24 points in Tuesday’s game – with many of those points coming in the second half. Katy Curl had 10, Mariya Sisco had 8, while Gyllian Davies, Lucy Whitfill and Clare Strong each had 2.

Both Siscos will participate in the three-point showdown 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Peotone, after advancing last week. They will be shooting for a chance to head to Redbird Arena.

Jeff Curl broadcasted the action live on Fairbury News from the Peotone girls basketball 2A sectional Tuesday evening.
