PC beats Pontiac in tourney




Prairie Central's Chloe Sisco takes a shot Saturday night at PCHS.

The Prairie Central girls basketball team is 2-3 on the season following completion of the 2021 Turkey Tournament at Fairbury.


During the final tournament game broadcast on Fairbury News Saturday evening, the Lady Hawks defeated Pontiac 58-43. Mariya Sisco had 16, Chloe Sisco had 18, Gyllian Davies had 3, Lucy Whitfill contributed 2, Clare Strong had 2, Gracie Edelman had 4 points, Sawyer Ashman had 2, Marissa Collins had 3 and Katy Curl contributed 8. Both Siscos were announced to the all-tournament team.


Pontiac was led by Bailey Masching with 14 points and Mackenzie Coates had 12.

In the Saturday morning game also carried live on Fairbury News, IVC defeated Prairie Central 42-41. Mahomet won the PC Turkey Tournament going undefeated while Eureka got second place.


The Lady Hawks are set for regular season play on Tuesday in a home game against Leroy High School at PCHS with a 7 p.m. tipoff. They are then off until Thursday, Dec. 2 when they play another home game against Urbana at 7 p.m.


The PC girls battled IVC in a Turkey Tourney game Saturday morning at PCHS.
