A regional championship is set for Friday night in Gibson City between Prairie Central and Monticello as the Hawks defeated Iroquois West Wednesday night 53-48.
Leading scorers for PC were Dylan Bazzell with 14, Drew Haberkorn with 13, Levi Goad had 10 while Camden Palmore and Tyler Curl each had 7. Andy Krenz and Drew Fehr held the high-scoring Cam Leonard from Iroquois West to 15 points in the defensive battle.
“The Hawks came out as the aggressors and earned the victory,” said PC head coach Darin Bazzell.
