Hot shooting Pontiac stuns PC

(PC and Pontiac battle for the ball Friday night at PTHS in the county rivalry)

Things didn’t go Prairie Central’s way at Pontiac Township High School Friday night as the Hawks fell to the host Indians 70-44 in the Illini Prairie Conference game.

Prairie Central’s Levi Goad had 13 points, while Tyler Curl had 7, Talen Steidinger had 6, Cody and Gage Steidinger each had 5, Avery Elder and Gavin Tredennick each had 3 and Lane Whitfill and Zimmerman each had 1.

For Pontiac, Brummel had 18, Weber contributed 17 and Fenton had 15 to lead the scoring.

“Hats off to Pontiac,” said PC head coach Trevin McCulloh in his game summary. “They shot the ball as well as we have seen a team shoot it.”

The Hawks are back at it Saturday afternoon in a non-conference road game at Teutopolis with JV playing at 2 p.m. and the varsity tip around 3:30 p.m. We will have the varsity live broadcast on Fairbury News Facebook with Mike Norris on the call.
