Hawks take 4th at Williamsville

Prairie Central’s boys basketball team took fourth in the 2023 Williamsville Holiday Tournament after falling to Calvary, 61-52, in the third place game Saturday evening.

The Hawks started off strong in the first quarter but ran into turnover trouble throughout the night as Levi Goad was still out with an ankle injury. Tyler Curl had 19 points, Gage Steidinger had 14 and Gavin Tredennick contributed 9.

On Friday, PC lost to Unity 51-35. Leading scorers in that one were Levi Goad with 8, Gage Steidinger with 7 and Talen Steidinger chipping in 6. This was the game where Goad went out with his ankle injury halfway through the second quarter.

Head Coach Trevin McCulloh said his team has to “clean some stuff up.” The Hawks are back in action Friday (Jan. 5) at St. Thomas More.

Tyler Curl was selected All Tournament First Team at Williamsville.

In Saturday’s championship game at the Williamsville Holiday Tournament, Unity defeated host Williamsville 48-45.
