It was a great win before a capacity crowd Friday night in Fairbury as the Prairie Central varsity boys defeated Iroquois West 55-46 on senior night.

Leading scorers for the game were Dylan Bazzell with 20, who also had several impressive dunks. Tyler Curl contributed 12 and Camden Palmore had 8. Before the game, seniors Andy Krenz and Thomas Zimmerman walked out onto the court to be recognized for senior night.

The Hawks could face Iroquois West again for the third time this season in regionals which are in less than two weeks. PC also defeated Iroquois West in the GCMS Thanksgiving Tournament early in the season.

Prior to Friday night’s game, the Prairie Central Music Boosters sponsored an all-you-can-eat taco dinner fundraiser in the PCHS cafeteria which appeared to be well attended by the community.

Plenty of Hawk basketball is planned for Saturday afternoon for the home finale as the freshman play at 3 p.m. followed by the junior varsity team at 4:30 and varsity at 6 p.m. against Plano. Fairbury News will have a double header with the bonus JV broadcast featuring Dayton Kilgus on the call followed by the varsity game with Jeff Curl behind the microphone.
