Hawks fall in opener

The Prairie Central High School football team fell to Tolono Unity in the season opener on the road Friday night on what turned out to be a stormy evening.

Friday's final score was 27-12 in the game broadcast live on Fairbury News with Mike Wolf and Jeff Curl calling the action. The game was called partway through the fourth quarter due to weather as heavy rain and wind moved into the area.

Next up for the Hawks is Friday's Livingston County rivalry game against Pontiac at Lewis Field in Fairbury. Our very first Fairbury Newsmakers show of the season is this coming Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. from Emancipation Brewing Co. near Fairbury as we talk to head coach Mike Goodwin and others.
