Hawks drop one to Unity

It was a rough night for Prairie Central’s football team as the Hawks lost to Tolono Unity 22-0 on Military and Veteran Appreciation Night at PCHS.


There was no scoring in the first quarter but in the second, Unity’s Nate Reinhart had a 28-yard pass to Nate Drennan. Reinhart then had a five yard run. In the fourth quarter, Reinhart had a six yard run.


For passing, Prairie Central’s Kaden King had four attempts and one interception. Unity’s Reinhart had eight completions, 12 attempts, 160 yards and one touchdown. For rushing, leaders for PC were Corbin Moser, Kaden King, Dailen Loveless, Connor Casner and Jacob Niffen. Unity’s rushing leaders were Hank Cain, Nate Reinhart and Micah Downs.


Unity’s receiving leaders were Jared Routh, Hank Cain, Nate Drennan and Jordan Clark. PC’s Cooper Palmore had two kickoffs and 86 yards with Unity’s Logan Wilson having four kickoffs and 186 yards. Jacob Niffen, Austin Swiech and Dailen Loveless all had kickoff returns for PC while Austin Elder had three punts and Kaden King a fumble. Caeden Young had a fumble recovery for the Hawks.


PC’s time of possession was 20:45 versus Unity’s 27:15. Unity led the rushing 197-146; passing 160-0 and total yards 357-146.
