Hawk hot streak continues

The Prairie Central girls basketball team improved to 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Illini Prairie Conference after defeating St. Thomas More Thursday evening by 20 points.

Thursday’s final score from the PCHS gymnasium was 51-31 in a game broadcast live on Fairbury News with Jeff Curl calling the action. Chloe Sisco was the leading scorer with 18 and Mariya Sisco had a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

“The girls are coming along phenomenally,” Coach Gabby Weber told Fairbury News before the game. “Defense is looking a ton better.”

Unfortunately, the Lady Hawks have been battling injuries which have included broken noses and fingers along with ankle sprains.

“They’re hanging in there being pretty tough and not letting up,” added Weber.
