Hawk football on a roll


The Prairie Central football team is on a roll as they beat Bloomington Central Catholic by a score of 28-21 Friday night in Bloomington.


Connor Casner had a 71-yard run in the first to start things off with Logan Steidinger contributing to the action in the second. By the third quarter, Dailen Loveless had a 71-yard run with a Tyler Trachsel kick and Logan Steidinger completed a 31-yard pass to Corbin Moser. A 59-yard pass by BCC at the end of the third brought the Saints into the game.


BCC made the score 28-21 in the fourth as Austin Jordan had a 10-yard pass to Issac Whitaker with a Jonathan Naour kick.


Logan Steidinger of PC led in passing with three completions, five attempts and 76 yards plus a touchdown. PC’s rushing leaders were Connor Casner, Dailen Loveless, Corbin Moser, Kaden King and Logan Steidinger. Casner had two touchdowns and Loveless one.


For receiving, Corbin Moser had two receptions, 55 yards and one touchdown. Cooper Palmore had one reception and 21 yards. Cooper Palmore and Clare Strong had kickoffs for PC while Jacob Niffen had three kickoff returns for 43 yards with an average of 14.3. Ashtin Elder had two punts while Austin Swiech had a punt return.


The Hawks led rushing with 270 compared to BCC’s 94. BCC led in passing 190-76 and PC had total yards of 346 to BCC’s 284. The Hawks time of possession was 23:38 and BCC 24:22.
