In the end, Friday’s regional final didn’t go Prairie Central’s way as the Hawk girls basketball team fell to Peotone 70-57 in a game broadcast live on Fairbury News.
It was a game much closer than the final score indicates as the audience saw a very competitive matchup at PCHS. This comes a year after PC knocked off Peotone for the 2022 regional championship at Braidwood Reed-Custer.
For the Hawks, Lucy Whitfill had 23 points, Mariya Sisco had 11, Carmen Gradberg 8, Marissa Collins 6, Chloe Sisco 5 and Kelly Wilkey 4.
The Hawks end their season at 20-8 after an undefeated Illini Prairie Conference season when they won the conference championship. Jeff Curl, Mike Wolf and Mike Norris helped out on the Fairbury News live broadcast.
