The Prairie Central girls fell to East Peoria in their basketball opener Monday night during the first annual Turkey Tip-Off sponsored by Bank of Pontiac.
Kelly Wilkey had 12 points in the 57-38 loss in Fairbury. Lucy Whitfill contributed 7 points, Jayla Hammond had 5, Sawyer Ashman and Carmen Gradberg each had 4, while Abi Nimbler, Kyrsten Atkins and Alayna Anderson each had 2 points.
Also in the Tip-Off tournament Monday, Mahomet beat Ottawa 61-52.
Now, the Lady Hawks will meet Ottawa Tuesday evening at 7 at PCHS. Fairbury News will once again carry the game broadcast live with Mike Norris on the call.
