The Prairie Central girls basketball team has won the Illini Prairie Conference after defeating Central Catholic on the road Monday evening 81-78.
PC moves to 9-0 in the conference and 18-7 overall after the win. Chloe Sisco was the leading scorer with 26 points while Mariya Sisco led the rebounds with 8. Both Siscos tied for steals with 6 each.
Other scorers included Marissa Collins with 15, Lucy Whitfill with 15, Mariya Sisco with 19, Sawyer Ashman with 2 and Carmen Gradberg with 4.
Senior night for the girls is set for Thursday, Feb. 9 at Fairbury against El-Paso Gridley High School. We will carry that game live on Fairbury News with a special edition of the Fairbury Newsmakers Show prior to the game around 6 p.m. from the high school talking with Coach Gabby and the seniors.
The Lady Hawks will begin regional play the following week and regionals will take place at PCHS. Fairbury News plans to follow the girls in the post season along with the boys.
