Thanks to strong defense and a great team effort, the Prairie Central boys basketball team won the GCMS Turkey Tourney Saturday evening after defeating Iroquois West 63-42 in the championship game.
Haberkorn, Steidinger and Bazzell all held Iroquois West’s Leonard to four points. The Hawks saw an even scoring effort as Bazzell led with 15 points, Palmore had 11, Curl contributed 10, Haberkorn had 9 and Goad and Steidinger had 8.
Those named to the all-tournament team for PC included Haberkorn, Goad and Bazzell.
Saturday night’s championship game was broadcast live on Fairbury News with Joel Swanson on the call. Next up for the Hawks is a road trip to Dwight to battle the Trojans Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
