Many hands came together at Fairbury’s Munz Nature Park Sunday afternoon to put over 900 native plants in a new area.
Plants were purchased with funds from a Rotary District 6490 grant, including additional donations from the Fairbury Rotary Club and Livingston County Pheasants Forever chapter.
With great teamwork, volunteers were able to put all of the plants in the ground in just slightly over an hour.
Those helping Sunday included Rotarians, families, friends, neighbors, Fairbury Prairie Farmer 4-H Club members and leaders, U of I Extension Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists (Livingston & Woodford counties) and Fairbury Garden Club members.
Jobs included hole drilling, planting, spreading sawdust and watering the new plants.
