State Police have released information surrounding an accident which occurred Wednesday evening, resulting in a vehicle striking the porch of a house between Fairbury and Forrest.
Authorities say a 2014 beige Buick sedan was traveling west on Route 24 while another vehicle was turning southbound from the highway. In order to avoid a collision with the other vehicle, police indicated the Buick veered to the right, striking the house.
A citation was issued for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and the driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred at Route 24 and Livingston County Road 2500 East and was reported around 6:11 p.m.
