This is FCCLA Week

(Left to right) Kayleigh Powell, Carene Campbell & McKenna Haab discuss FCCLA with Fairbury News last week.

FCCLA Week is underway and students at Prairie Central High School are celebrating with different activities each day.

This week’s themes include Motivational Monday, Taco Tuesday, Wisdom Wednesday and Throwback Thursday. The PC chapter recently hosted a 50s-themed diner which raised money for Ronald McDonald House along with FCCLA to help students attend leadership conferences.

“We wanted FCCLA to be more prominent in the community because we feel like a lot of people don’t really know much about it,” said PCHS student McKenna Haab.

Some of the FCCLA members compete during the year and do community work, such as catering events.

“We are going to be helping with Read Across America at the elementary school,” noted member Kayleigh Powell.

FCCLA has monthly chapter meetings and also has officer meetings weekly. More information on the PC FCCLA can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
