The Hawk softball team battled but lost Thursday night to the county rival Pontiac Indians by a score of 5-1.
“We faced one of the best pitchers in the state,” said PC softball coach Molly Cagley. “We held our ground, took nice cuts and got five hits on the game.”
Rylee Galloway led the team with two hits and Kyah Creek scored the only run.
“Defense-wise, we had a couple of errors in the beginning but settled in nicely and made them earn it after that.”
Dixie Hogan pitched a nice game and gave up five hits, had two strikeouts, three walks and only gave up two earned runs.
The Hawks have the weekend off before the last conference game of the season Monday against IVC.
