This is the season for race parties and a big one took place in Fairbury over the weekend.
Jeff Curl’s annual event saw a great turnout, according to Curl.
“I’m blessed to have such huge support from the community,” Curl said afterward. “They love racing and appreciate how active I am around the area coaching youth programs.”
Like other race parties held throughout the area during the winter months, this one acts as primary sponsorship allowing the upgrading of equipment and the ability to compete with professional race teams when they roll into town.
Curl’s party was at the Walton Centre in downtown Fairbury Saturday evening with a dinner, auction, raffles and live country music provided by the Scott Marek Band later in the night.
