The Prairie Central Board of Education didn’t waste any time getting down to business Tuesday night.
In a fairly brief meeting, the group approved minutes of the February 20 regular meeting and the consent agenda, which included an activity fund report, bills, cafeteria report, financial reports and investment schedule.
Much of the action came from an executive session where personnel matters were approved. Bradley Kolar was appointed PCJH science teacher, Penny Reid PCP West secretary and Amber Johnson PCHS social studies teacher all effective with the 2020-21 school year.
Also, Elizabeth Rieger was appointed district social worker while Ben Klekamp was named PCJH dean of students.
Resignations were accepted for: Erin Ifft, PCHS winter cheer coach; Jenny Johnson, student support specialist; Jennifer Jones, PCHS co-yearbook sponsor; Jennifer Jones, PCHS fall play director; Catherine Pasakarnis, bus monitor; Carly Hendricks, PCUE sixth grade teacher; Tyler Webster, PCHS head wrestling coach; and Daulton Berg, district bus driver.
Leaves of absences were granted for three district employees.
The board adjourned after 47 minutes. Those in attendance included board members Ted Bachtold, Tim McGreal, Dana Kafer, Lori Schahrer and Brian Plenert along with administrators Paula Crane, Tonya Dieken and Lisa Bounds.
