Thanks to softball players, parents who volunteered and all of those helping to donate, Prairie Central softball raised $632 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital over the weekend.

The fundraiser took place Saturday when players wore throwback Hawk jerseys from the early 1990s. Baskets were raffled and each class was in charge of making their own.

Prairie Central softball split a couple of games Saturday at home in round robin play.

They lost the first game to Dwight 10-2 and won the second game 23-1. The Hawks are back in action next week to play six games with a couple of those being JV contests.

“Thanks to our fans for coming out and supporting us,” said head PC softball coach Molly Cagley. “It was a beautiful day to play ball.”
