Obituary: Meyer

Roberta Kay Meyer, 77, Fairbury, died at 2:28 pm Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 9:45 am Thursday also at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

Roberta was born March 14, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of Amos A. and C. Ruth Witzig Meyer.

Survivors include, 3 nephews, Darryl (Kathi) Meyer, Alan (Amy) Meyer, Jonathan (Beth) Banwart, 2 nieces, Ulista (Andy) Knobloch, Venetta Banwart, 5 great nephews, Will Meyer, Daniel, Jacob, Kevin, and Jeffrey Banwart.  Other survivors include Rachel Meyer and Carolyn Banwart.

She is preceded in death by 1 sister, Charlotte Banwart and 1 brother, Ralph Meyer.

Roberta worked at GTE, Bloomington for 20 years and later owned and operated Meyer’s Gifts, Fairbury.

Roberta faithfully served her Lord for many years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.

She will be remembered for her love of horses.
