Obituary: Margherio




David Neil Margherio, 74, of Fairbury, passed away at 5:04 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his residence in Fairbury.


Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no public service at this time. The family suggests that memorial contributions in David’s name may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.


Mr. Margherio was born December 19, 1945 in Peoria; the son of George and Elta (Robertson) Margherio. He married Karen Weber on June 26, 1976 in Fairbury. His wife, Karen survives in Fairbury. His parents, one brother, Charlie Margherio; two sisters, Miriam Margherio-Tullous and Christina McKeon also preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Crystal (Marc Hartke) Allen and Kendra (Jessie) Toohill both of Fairbury; seven grandchildren, Sierra Allen, Dustin (Kenadee) Allen, Taryn Probus, Landen, Addisyn, Lillian and Ava Toohill; two sisters, Laura (John) Kijak of Georgia; Linda (Chuck) Lindsay of Oklahoma.


David served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed by PTC Alliance (Pittsburgh Tube) in Fairbury; for over 50 years. He was a “Classic Car Freak” who loved his family, especially his grandchildren who could always brighten his day! He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.
