Josh Michael Maquet, 52, Fairbury, died at 10:39 am Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
A Celebration of Josh’s Life will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in the youth center at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury. In memory of Josh please direct memorials to the Dylan Bazzell Memorial Fund, payable to Prairie Lands Foundation, 104 E. Locust St., Fairbury, IL 61739. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.
Josh was born June 4, 1971 in Pekin IL. Josh is the son of Jerry Lee and Cynthia Tumilty Maquet. His father Jerry precedes him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Kelli of Fairbury. Josh and Kelli (Aberle) were married on December 9, 1995 in Fairbury.
Other survivors include a son, Jacob Maquet, Bloomington, daughter, Korinne Maquet, Fairbury, mother, Cynthia Maquet, Plant City, FL and a sister, Jaime (Dwight) Randolph, Boerne, TX.
Josh attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where he received his Bachelor Degree in Aviation Management. Upon graduation he also had obtained his commercial aviation license. Josh began his professional career in 1994, joining Caterpillar Inc at the Fuel Systems facility in Pontiac, IL. Over a span of 29 years, he ascended as an esteemed technical authority and leader, showcasing deep expertise in manufacturing systems and production operations. Serving as Senior Production Manager since 2021, Josh led the development of pivotal manufacturing strategies and investment initiatives for numerous significant Caterpillar products. His comprehensive understanding, pragmatic outlook, collaborative spirit, and affable humor will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
Josh enjoyed boating, being on the water, and fishing. He loved planning our many family vacations. His most favorite times were with family and friends. His dry sense of humor, quick wit, and loving heart will be greatly missed.
