Robert Eugene Gibson, 83, of Fairbury, passed away at 9:15 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Piper City Rehab and Living Center.
Cremation has been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to SELCAS, Fairbury.
Robert was born February 20, 1937, in Chenoa, the son of James Shelby and Goldie May (Howell) Gibson. He married Lisa Baltz on February 3, 1983, in Pontiac. She survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are two sons, Joseph Gibson of Sheridan and Gordon Gibson of Fairbury; grandchild, Leyton Gibson of Chenoa; mother-in-law, Mary Morris of Fairbury; father-in-law, Alan (Joy) Baltz of Port Orange, FL; and brother-in-law, Kevin Baltz of Washington DC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and eight sisters.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for 37 years at Siebert’s in
Chenoa. He was a 20-year member of the IOOF.
