Evelyn L. Freeland, 87, Fairbury and formerly of Forrest, passed into God’s eternal hands at 9:28am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Serenity Villa, Fairbury.
Mrs. Freeland was born September 3, 1935 in Emington, IL the daughter of Anna (Arnolds) and John Eggenberger. She married Harold A. Freeland on May 7, 1954 in Saunemin, IL. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2005.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Tim) Dickey, Coweta, OK; Chuck (Liz) Freeland, Fairbury; Dale Freeland and Dorothy (Doug) Wessels, both of Forrest; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Freeland was employed by First State Bank of Forrest in bookkeeping for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and being outdoors.
A private funeral service for family will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forrest with Pastor Paul Lellelid officiating. Burial will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Saunemin. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.
The family suggests memorials be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forrest or Serenity Villa at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
