Obituary: Dellinger

Myron Gail Dellinger was born January 30, 1939 at home in Morley, Missouri.


The doctor was paid with proceeds from a 5-gallon jug of cane syrup which Myron’s father had processed with his own hands. The family moved to Illinois when he was 3 years old. He graduated high school in Fairbury, Illinois in 1957. He married his high school sweetheart Juanita Fern Wells on August 14, 1960. He finished trade school 2 years later and did a two-year stint in the US Army from 1962 to 1964. Juanita and Myron raised their three sons Kyle, Tom, & Chris in Illinois, then, Westerville, Ohio. They lost Juanita on September 27, 1989 from ALS. 

 

Eventually, Myron met his current sweetheart, Joyce Fadorsen. They blended their families & married on January 3,1992. They made their home in various locales, Westerville, OH, Cape Coral, FL, & after retirement, Byesville, OH. 

 

His hobbies varied throughout the years,  square dancing, duck hunting, cooking, volunteering with the Master Gardener program at OSU, growing hostas & daylilies,  rebuilding Allis Chalmers tractors (he bled Persian Orange), carving & painting birds of many types. A few years ago, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He died from a complication of the disease on September 28, 2025.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil (Bud) & Hazel (Dodson) Dellinger, first wife, Juanita,  two brothers, Harold & Kenneth, eldest son, Kyle, grandson, Ryan, and his faithful pup, Jock.

 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce, brother, Richard (Liz) , children Tom (Kristy), Chris (Cheryl), Lindsay Fadorsen, Chrissy (Brent) Marshall, Teri Rives, Tim (Michelle) Fadorsen, Dave (Sally) Fadorsen,  numerous nieces, nephews, grandkids, great-grandkids, his childhood best friend, Jon Goembel, friends, family, classmates in Fairbury, IL, and, last, but not least, Pia, their Maltipoo. He will be greatly missed. A graveside service in Wing, IL to be scheduled in the near future.
