Pastor Edward “Ed” Lee Davis was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He went home to be with the lord on February 5th, 2024, at age 69.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, February 13th at 10am at First Presbyterian Church in Fairbury with pastor Alan Willadsen officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Cropsey Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 12th from 4-7pm, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers please donate to the S.E.L.C.A.S on his behalf or a charity of your choice.
Ed was born to Robert and Ruth (Brown) Davis on July 10, 1954. After graduating from high school, Ed began his long journey of serving others by serving in the United States Navy. On October 20, 1979, Ed married the love of his life Patti (Kafer) Davis, she survives.
In 1996 Ed answered the Lord's call and began his ministry. He faithfully spread the love of Jesus throughout the state of Illinois as he served at several churches. Ed devoted his life to serving others and God. Ed had a way of showing people who Jesus was through his kindness, personality, and sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and sharing God’s love with others. Even up to the time of his death, Ed was still sharing his love of Jesus with his family, and the staff at the hospital. There is no doubt about the celebration that took place as Ed entered heaven.
Ed is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patti; 2 children Megan (Jeremy) Devera, and Matthew (Emily) Davis; 4 Grandchildren, Emma and Eddie Devera, and Kaden and Karlee Davis. He is also survived by his four siblings: Dan Davis, Rick Davis, Tim (Marianne) Davis, and Kathy Dixon.
