When you think of community improvement, the name Dale Maley likely comes to mind.
It's only appropriate that Maley was named Citizen of the year by the Fairbury Woman's Club for 2019. Maley officially receives the honor Saturday, Sept. 21 at noon during the Chamber's Local Taste event downtown.
Maley, who currently serves as president of the Fairbury Improvement Group, has volunteered time for numerous projects around town such as refurbishing Marsh Park, mural construction at Veteran's Memorial Park and improvements to North Park.
The author of several books about Fairbury also works closely with the Prairie Lands Foundation.
