A family of four was displaced and three pets were lost after a house fire broke out Tuesday evening in Fairbury.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 500 block of Margaret Drive and a MABAS box alarm was requested, which brings in departments from FSW, Pontiac, Saunemin, Cullom, Chenoa and Chatsworth.
Units arriving on the scene observed a working fire in the two-story single family residence. The residents were not home at the time of the fire, which was reported by a passerby.
“The fire was under control at 8:04,” Fairbury Fire Chief Josh Hoselton told Fairbury News. “Units remained on scene until 10:00 ventilating and overhauling the structure.”
The Pontiac Fire Department investigation team is helping with the investigation and the American Red Cross was notified for the family.
