Those craving music and ice cream were in luck Friday evening as Fairview Haven hosted its annual ice cream social on the front patio along Fourth Street.
Deer Fry International, a men’s musical group with a bluegrass sound, entertained the crowd with the guitar, mandolin and banjo. The band is from the Goodfield area and has played for past events locally. The weather was perfect for an outdoor event.
“We couldn’t be more thankful,” said Fairview Haven administrator Dave Blunier.
The evening of fellowship with family, friends and neighbors included around 20 gallons of ice cream. This tradition began roughly 10 years ago.
“It all started when we re-landscaped our home here and added a patio,” explained Blunier.
Fairview Haven’s annual Harvest of Sharing dinner and silent auction is coming up. The event starts Wednesday, Oct. 30 with a dinner and finalizing of auction items Friday, Nov. 1.
