A new service offered by Dominy Memorial Library allows patrons to stay updated on newly added items each week.
Dominy has subscribed to Wowbrary where users register for the service and get an e-mail each week discussing the new title added from the previous week.
“It’s a great way to see what new titles and materials have been added to the library,” explains library director Amanda Todd, who was a guest on last week’s Fairbury Newsmakers program.
Once you hit “borrow” from the e-mail, the library staff will get items ready to be picked up. While the arrival of new items – especially movies – has slowed during COVID-19, there is still a large selection to choose from.
“There had been hardly any movies out until just recently,” Todd said. “Our adult fiction books are very popular.”
Children’s books seem to be popular as the library as getting in several picture books.
Todd notes everyone is welcome at the library; however they must have a card to check out items. Area townships do cover most or all of the fees involved. The library also offers copies, faxes and various types of events.
