Summer Reading Winners

We had such a fun time reading with all of you this summer! The Summer Reading Program has come to an end and the grand prize winners have been drawn. Please check our Facebook page or give the library a call to see if you were one of our lucky winners! We can’t wait for next summer!

Pinewood Derby Trial Race

Back by popular demand, we are bringing back our Pinewood Derby Trial Race to test your car before the big race at the Fairbury Fair! There will be members of the Fair board present to help with testing and fine tuning of your car. If you have a car from a previous year, you are welcome to join us! The Trial Race will be happening on Saturday, August 9th from 10:00am-12:00pm in the White Community Room. The Fairbury Fair Pinewood Derby Race is Thursday, August 14th at 5:00pm at the Fairbury Fairgrounds.

Kid’s Day At The Fair

Summer is coming to a close, and we know what that means. It’s time for the Fairbury Fair! Join us at the Fairbury Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 14th from 1:00-4:00pm for Kids Day at the Fair. Don’t miss out on the super fun activities and prizes for the kids to send summer out on a high note! The Fairbury Fairgrounds are located at 600 S Third St, Fairbury IL or across the street from Prairie Central Elementary School located at 600 S First St, Fairbury IL.

Rock Painting Party

Do you want to get in on the Fairbury Rocks fun and express your creativity? Then join us on Saturday, August 23rd in the White Community Room for our Rock Painting Party! This event is for all ages, so bring the whole family out and have some fun before summer comes to a close!

Adopt A Reading Buddy

Do you ever get lonely while you’re reading? Well, we’ve got a whole bunch of reading buddies that need forever homes! During the month of August, come into the library and adopt your very own reading buddy! Reading buddies will come with official adoption papers for you to keep as well. One reading buddy can be adopted per child.

No Preschool Storytime

There will be no Preschool Storytime in the month of August, we will see you all back in September!

Tri-County Library Crawl

The Tri-County Library Crawl is coming to a close! Local libraries participating include Dominy Memorial Library, Chenoa Public Library, Forrest Public Library, and Chatsworth Area Library. There are 18 libraries in the Library Crawl, visit all, or as many as you can to collect stickers for a chance to win! The Library Crawl goes from June 2nd through August 30th and is a fun way to visit libraries and to explore their communities. Pick up your map at your local library and start crawling before time runs out!
