More success for PC FFA
Members of the Prairie Central FFA were recognized for their efforts and success at this week’s National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
During a welcome home ceremony in the PCHS cafeteria Saturday night, family and community members showed their support. The Ag Sales team was the national champion. Members include Cassidy Edelman, Alexandrea Brown, Sydney Rothert and Kirra Gehring.
“It hasn’t quite hit yet but it was pretty cool,” admits Rothert. “It is exciting to know that all the hours of work put in and all the tears and stress paid off.”
The Ag Mechanics team was reserve national champion, consisting of Evan Young, Ty Zimmerman, Chase Leman and Austin Friedman.
“We had good coaches and good help so it went well for us,” noted Leman.
The Dairy Cattle Evaluation Team including Ainsley Kratochvil, Ashlyn Kratochvil, Jake Raber and Addie Raber was reserve national champion. Members got invited to judge at two international shows in Europe.
“We were super excited to realize we placed second and we were going to be receiving that invitation,” said Ainsley.
“We made a lot of memories and had a really good time,” added Ashlyn.
PC’s Dairy Products team also received reserve national champion. Team members were Evan Slagel, Tyler Ifft, Haven Slagel and Sarah Waldbeser. Slagel said the team had fun and made plenty of memories. Ifft plans to shift his focus to meats, mechanics and poultry.
Fourth place went to the Vet Science team of Grace Eisemann, Elise Dotterer, Katie Elbert and Rachel McGreal.
“We had to put a lot of hard work in so we were just really glad for the results,” said McGreal
The Ag Business Management team was ninth in the nation and consisted of Ethan Slagel, Clay Zimmerman, Jeremy Steffen and Jake Crane. Meats was 20th and included Anthony Brown, Lyndon Schaffer and Harrison Ifft.
