4-H meets in Nov., Dec.

Prairie Farmer 4-H'ers make crafts for nursing home residents in November.

On December 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairbury Methodist Church, the Fairbury Prairie Farmers met for the third meeting of the year to discuss business.

Seventeen members were present, as well as 14 visitors and two leaders. They discussed donating money to the Fair and Fun Committee, and Ainsley and Ashlyn Kratochvil gave a presentation about their dairy judging trip to Europe. There were two talks and one demonstration.

Holden Myers talked about his book and his fitness program, Ben Joseph talked about the types of horse shoes he uses, and Ivan Miller demonstrated how to clip sheep and take care of them.

Previously, on November 21, the club met to conduct their business meeting and make paper turkey tray favors for the residents of Fairview Haven.

The club also discussed sign-up slots for bell ringing for the Salvation Army Kettle outside Dave’s Supermarket. Kyson Daniels talked about his woodworking project, and Ellie Drach demonstrated the products she uses on her horse and what they do to keep her horse in good condition.
