A vacancy has been created on the Livingston County Board in District 3 with the recent passing of board member Mark Runyon.
This district covers Fairbury and by statute, the vacancy should be filled within 60 days by an appointment from the county board chair, with advice and consent from the board.
Information provided by Livingston County Clerk Kristy Masching’s office states the appointed individual shall be someone from the same political party (Republican), 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, resident of the county for at least a year prior to appointment, a registered voter in District 3 and shall serve through Nov. 30, 2024.
District 3 covers the townships of Avoca, Belle Prairie, Charlotte, Chatsworth, Eppards Point, Fayette, Forrest, Germanville, Indian Grove, Nebraska, Pike, Pleasant Ridge, Saunemin, Sullivan and Waldo.
The vacated position will be filled by election in the General Election on Nov. 5.
An appointment will be announced by the county board chairman at the Thursday, April 11 meeting of the county board.
