Thanks to the local shops

Several essential businesses are meeting our needs during these difficult times and we appreciate their efforts and dedication to members of the community.

You don’t have to travel far from home to get the items you are looking for as Dave’s Supermarket has your groceries covered and will keep your refrigerator and cupboard stocked during the stay at home order. We all thank the workers at Dave’s for their assistance. Don’t forget about the store’s curbside pickup.

Take a short drive south of Fairbury to discover Kilgus Farmstead. They have plenty of milk and remain open, doing their best to make sure high-traffic areas are wiped down. Browse the selection of farm fresh meat for the grill as the weather turns nice or check out the locally-made products in the country store.

Country Cupboard is located east of Fairbury on Route 24 and has several baking ingredients along with deli items. The kids will love the candy aisle, complete with dried fruit and veggies in addition to snacks. Customers will also find soup and dip mixes, coffee, bulk herbs and spices.

“It is crucial to support our small businesses during this time and we are lucky to have stores to meet our needs right here in the area,” said Bobbi McKeon, coordinator of the Specialty Shops of Fairbury. “Please keep shopping local now and in the future. Our business community thanks you.”
