Taste what Fairbury has to offer


The tent is set up for this Saturday's "A Local Taste" event in downtown Fairbury.

Area farmers, restaurants and businesses specializing in food will be showcased this Saturday (Sept. 21) in downtown Fairbury during “A Local Taste” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. hosted by the Fairbury Area Chamber of Commerce.


In addition to the numerous food items available during the festival, visitors can enjoy a bouncy obstacle course for the kids, bingo inside the VFW, a dunk tank, live music and tractors.


Vendors serving food include: Emancipation Brewing Company, Lost in Time, Jewelry and Jelly by Jeannine, Dave’s Supermarket, Gig’s Place, Cilantro and Lime, Rebekah’s Charity Home #112, Bekah’s Bakin’, Twin Oak Meats, The Coffee Steamer and the Lunchbox.

Those appearing in the dunk tank include: Jordan Hornickel at 11, Mike Norris at 12, Tucker Stoller at 1 and Josh Hoselton at 2.


The event is sponsored by the Fairbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Steidinger Foods, Brandt, Fairbury Furniture, First State Bank of Forrest, Bluestem Bank, Dave’s Supermarket, Fairbury Vision Center, Fairbury-Cropsey Community Bank and Compass Insurance.
