Students of the Month honored

Students of the Month at Prairie Central High School this school year were recognized by the Fairbury Rotary Club this week.
All were honored for their efforts each month during the year by a nominating teacher.
Kinley Elliott, nominated by the PE Department at PCHS, was described as a leader in what she does for other students and demonstrates effort in class.
Rita Strong, nominated by the Fine Arts Department, takes creative risks and picked up band for the first time as a senior. Teachers said she adds to the Fine Arts program, bringing unique ideas to life.
Ashton Sheldrake, nominated by the Math Department, helped other students stay eligible for sports by assisting them with math and expanding his knowledge of the subject. He also participated in class discussions.
Ty Harms, nominated by Ag and Industrial Arts, helps students with projects and puts others before himself. He plans to get a CDL and work for Brandt and eventually return to help on the family farm.
Maggie Fehr, nominated by Family and Consumer Sciences, shows a strong commitment to academics striving to do her best every day.
Kyla Rassi will be entering social work and was recognized by the English Department for her writing. She was described as having a sense of social responsibility beyond her years.
Rayana Ibragim received a Student of the Month honor this year for her dedication, character and positive attitude. As a foreign exchange student, she has shown adaptability and strives to be her best each day.
Kristen Mulvaney was described as a hard worker who is positive and was nominated by the Science Department. While she is involved in several activities, Kristen does a good job staying on top of her work while going above and beyond.
Rheagan Aberle, nominated by the Computers and Business Departments, is a hard-working student with great integrity. She is self-motivated, completing all tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
