Bank of Pontiac continues a longstanding tradition with the annual Livingston County rivalry football game on Friday night.
The bank sponsors the trophy which stays with the winner who also gets bragging rights. Bank of Pontiac then provides a team meal the following week. This sponsorship started in 2013 and Pontiac won the first six games while Prairie Central won the last four. Each side takes pride in winning the rivalry each year with the trophy being the center of the post-game celebration.
This year's rivalry game will be played Friday at Prairie Central's Lewis Field in Fairbury with a kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Live broadcast coverage will be provided on the Fairbury News and Eye on Central Illinois Facebook pages via the Casson Media High School Sports Network, presented by Bank of Pontiac and Brandt Professional Agriculture.
