Classic autos filled Fairbury over the lunch hour Saturday as the 12th annual All Pontiac Cruise & Show made a stop at Fairbury Speedway.
The Saturday cruise was planned by Alan Finkenbinder of Pontiac. He typically plans a route through the country to different destinations and Fairbury was this year’s choice.
“We had about 50 cars,” he told Fairbury News.
Matt Curl, Gunner Sullivan and Dale Maley all spoke to the group over the lunch hour before the cars proceeded to take in the collections of Ray Popejoy and Randy Weber.
“Most all of them that I talked to very much enjoyed it,” said Finkenbinder.
The All Pontiac Cruise & Show has been held for 12 years as a way to help raise funding and awareness of the Pontiac Oakland Automobile Museum. The Gateway GTO Association and Heart of Illinois GTOAA chapters once again organized and ran the show.
“It’s a national club but the main thrust behind it is the Gateway Club out of St. Louis. They have members from all over,” explained Finkenbinder.
Next year’s 13th annual event is planned for the third weekend in September.
