Fairbury is the place to be this Saturday to help get you into the holiday spirit.
The 2024 Christmas parade, sponsored by the Fairbury Area Chamber of Commerce, steps off at 11:30 a.m. and travels through downtown Fairbury heading east. Children can visit with Santa at the VFW after the parade until 1 p.m. Also, Bank of Pontiac will sponsor horse and carriage rides downtown until 1 p.m. at the northwest corner of Locust and Third streets.
A VFW Auxiliary breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage and biscuits and gravy will be offered from 7 to 11 a.m. along with a bake sale.
The Fairbury United Methodist Church will have its annual pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at 200 East Maple Street. Adults are $10 and children 5-11 are $5. Those under 5 are free. The Methodist Women will hold a bake sale.
Prairie Central High School Madrigals will continue their holiday tradition of performing at Dominy Library at 1 p.m. They will have a selection of favorites on the building’s main floor. Cookies and warm drinks will be available for everyone to enjoy during the performance.
