Obituary: Stonehouse

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Stonehouse of Urbandale, Iowa, at the age of 65. After a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, Sally departed peacefully May 3, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on January 13, 1959, Sally's zest for life and her radiant spirit were her hallmarks. Throughout her life, Sally was a beacon of warmth and joy, effortlessly brightening every space she entered. Her enchanting smile and infectious laugh spread happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sally's love knew no bounds. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathryn, and her son, Gavin; her lifelong partner of over 40 years, Paul; her beloved grandchildren, Emmett and Kori; her cherished dog, Calvin, who was a constant companion; her loving mother, Kathryn Honegger; her brothers, Doug and Danny; and her sister, Sue.

Sally’s love for life didn't just fill rooms, it inspired everyone around her. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering kindness have left an indelible mark on us all. As we continue to navigate life without her physical presence, we carry forward her vibrancy, her love, and her compassion in our hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate Sally's remarkable life will be held soon. Details will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation in Sally's memory. This will help further research in the hope that no other family will have to lose a loved one this way.

As we remember Sally, let us reflect on her profound impact and the beautiful moments she gifted us. Her legacy will forever be cherished and remembered by all who loved her
