Robert “Bobby” Porter, 60, of Fairbury, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 8:00PM at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, IL. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 11:00AM, at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac, IL, with Lori Brown officiating. Burial will be at South Side Cemetery in Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorials in Robert’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Bobby was born on September 3, 1961, in Fairbury, IL, to his proud parents, George Porter and Taylora (Sears) Porter. His mother survives in Pontiac. Other survivors include his son, Zackary T. Porter. Four sisters; Patricia Porter-Wolf, Terry Porter-Duncan, Andrea (James Marable) Blackwell, and Dlorah (Henry) Gaston. One brother; Stephen (Teresa) Curtiss. Girlfriend; Colleen McKay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog. Preceding him in death was his father, stepfather; Milton Curtiss, and one brother; Greg Porter. Bobby attended and graduated from the Pontiac High School. He was employed with the City of Fairbury for 36.5 years, starting part-time in 1984 and then full time in May of 1985. Bob was an extremely hard worker and always had a smile on his face. He never knew a stranger and always put others before himself. Bobby was an avid Bears and Cubs fan.
