Obituary: Moffitt

Byron Lane Moffitt, 67, Minonk, died at 11:07 am Friday, December 12, 2025 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Byron was born March 21, 1958 in Colorado Springs, CO the son of Byron Wilbur and Hazel Marie Hoteling Moffitt.  He married Faith Ann Luck on April 19, 1997 in Springfield, IL.  She died on April 9, 2023.

Survivors include two daughters, Samantha (Nathan) Black, Saunemin, Brittany Moffitt, Minonk, one son, Byron Lane Moffitt Jr., Springfield and one step son, Billy Standage, both of Springfield, five grandchildren, one brother, Lee (Becky) Moffitt, Pittsfield, and four nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Byron was an auto mechanic and more recently a bus driver for the Graymont Elementary School. 

Cremation rites have been accorded by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  A graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield at a later date.
