Obituary: Lorch

Marguerite Mary (Kilgus) Lorch 93, of Fairbury passed away at 11:15 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.


Funeral services will be 10 am, Thursday, February 5th, 2026 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with the ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury. 


Visitation will be one hour prior, 9:00 to 9:45am also at the church on Thursday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.


Mrs. Lorch was born November 2, 1932 in Fairbury the daughter of Rudy and LaVina (Meiss) Kilgus. She married Bernhardt (Ben) Lorch on October 18, 1953 in Fairbury. He passed away on July 16, 2012.  Her parents, two sisters, Thelma Hoerr and Janet Simpson and two brothers, Elmer Kilgus and Ron Kilgus also preceded her in death.


Survivors include her children, Mary Jane (john H.) Traub of Mandeville, LA; MaLinda (Scott) Hillman of Flanagan; Michael Lorch of Fairbury; five grandchildren, Tina (Larry) Beachler Jr., Dr. Amanda Traub (Ryan Wilson), Karị (Reuben) Rosczyk, Ashley Hillman, and Elizabeth (Jacob Holzman) Hillman; five great grandchildren, Larry Lee Beachler III, Andrew John Beachler, Carson Scott Rosczyk, Claire LeeAnn Rosczyk and Evelyn Lee Holzman; two sisters Norma Zimmerman and Julia McDugle and one brother Rudy “Keith” Kilgus. 


Marguerite sold Avon and owned Marguerite's Children Shoppe in Fairbury. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Fairbury. Marguerite was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
