Chloe Kathryn (Rigsby) Gouge, 87, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, at Cox South Hospital.
Chloe was born April 21, 1935, in Forest, IL, the daughter of Gilbert and Emma Rigsby Ford. She was a graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School. Chloe was united in marriage to Allen H. “Doc” Gouge on November 9, 1952, in Pontiac, IL.
Chloe enjoyed gardening, walking in the timber of their farm in Fountain Run, Kentucky, and lovingly taking care of their cattle. She will always be remembered for her cooking, baking and her Scotch-Irish temperament.
Survivors include her two children, Jeff Gouge and wife, Susan Gouge, Jane Gouge Means; grandchildren, Kathryn Allena Mireles, Isaac D. Gouge and Amanda K. Gouge; great grandchildren; Seline Alana Mireles, Dash Allen Ward and Lily Grace Ward.
Chloe was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen “Doc” Gouge; parents, Gilbert Rigsby and Emma Ford; her stepfather, Homer T. Ford; sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Diller; and brothers; Hartzel Rigsby, Francis “Frankie” Rigsby, Arnold Rigsby, Garnold Rigsby and her son-in-law Steven P. Means.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
The family will have a graveside service at Graceland Cemetery, in Fairbury, Illinois on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
